Response to Fabble Prompt #103
First time posting here <3 Because procrastinating on essays is stupid fun.

Title: Art Appreciation 101
Author: Allison Jackson
Rating: PG/PG-13 (for language and, um, slight mackage?)
Pairing: P/G
Word Count: 250
Summary: George doesn't like art. Not really, anyway.
Author's Notes: I've been meaning to do a Fabble for months now, and this one gave me unexpected inspiration.

George was never much for art. Not the drawings or paintings or whatever poncy, "beautiful" shit people were trying to pass off as "art" now. Of course, the most art he had ever seen was those silly paintings his grandmum had been so fond of. He could remember being a kid, just a bit, five or six maybe, looking at those landscapes of snow covered log cabins in a pristine mountain setting, sailboats cutting through clear, blue waters, yellow daffodils in a decorative purple vase. He thought they were pretty, sure, but what always annoyed him about paintings was how unrealistic they were. The white snow was beautiful, sure, but it made him think of the slush he had to live with and how hard it felt when it was packed up and thrown against your cheek. The water was enticing, but it couldn't convey the feelings of swimming naked in the ocean, the biting cold yet the exhilarating thrill of it all. And while the daffodils looked nice, they were almost too beautiful, not showing the fragility of flowers that he liked, how even though everyone thought they were nice and romantic, they were living things that grew up and lived and then died. A painting couldn't possibly try to show that.

Still, George had to admit that art had a certain appeal, especially when Paul was sucking your neck and telling you that you were as pretty as a painting.

Now that is making art come to life.

Gotta love George's thought process. And P/G is always appreciated, at least in my book. Well done.
