Tap. Tap. Tap.

George looked out the window of another poorly finished hotel room to see what was causing the ‘tapping’ noise.

The world seemed to have been painted a dark gray, either a dark gray or a very light black.

Humidity hung in the hair, and warm raindrops fell occasionally from the soaked leaves of some of the various trees surrounding the lot outside.

George sighed and set down his frayed guitar, why bother practicing? It was hot and damp in the cramped hotel room, not really good playing conditions.

George put his feet up on the chair across from the bedside he was currently sitting on.

All his childhood he had never once been bored. There was always something to do back home, the something certainly wasn’t always fun, but at least it was something.

All the work he did have to do back so long ago probably kept him from going out of his mind.

Now, here he was a successful musician with plenty of money to spare, and he almost never had to lift a finger.

Yet, at that very moment, he was ready to throw his guitar away and jump out the window he was so bored and frustrated.

George glanced up towards the door as he heard it creak open, a sudden gust of cool air filled the room, until it was driven out when the door was closed.

“Hey George…” a tired voice said softly, so softly George almost couldn’t make it out.

It was no doubt Paul anyway; he was his roommate for this town like he was for all the others.

There wasn’t anything wrong with rooming with Paul at all.

In fact, it was quite nice, considering if George got stuck with John he’d have to deal with birds coming in and out every night, and if he got stuck with Ringo he’d have to put up with the snoring.

Paul didn’t do much of that. He had the birds of course, but at least he warned George before he did anything…

George managed to give Paul a weak smile before he turned to look at the clock, noting it was about 5:30 P.M.

He would pay good money for the day to be over so he would be able to sleep. Sleeping was the only thing worth while really.

Paul sat down in one of the room’s chairs with a somewhat gracious ‘plop’, and took of his shoes.

It was too obvious that he was exhausted, as they all usually were by the end of a work day.

George watched Paul sit back against his bed, letting himself slid down a bit so his chin was somewhat crushed against the top of his chest.

George couldn’t help but smile to himself; he looked quite cute sitting like that. All innocent and such.

Even though George was usually paired with Paul in the hotel rooms, he almost never got to really even talk to him.

He was always off with a girl, or all four of them were working, or Paul was with John. Paul always spent time with John, and in a way the two of them excluded Ringo and himself.

George scoffed at himself, of course Paul spent a lot of time with John, why wouldn’t he? He was his John’s best mate. Had been for as long as George had known Paul.

Why think bad thoughts toward the two of them now?

George sighed and looked over at Paul, whose eyes had now drooped shut.

George smiled a bit to himself, suddenly realizing why all those teen magazines called him ‘cute and angelic’ for Paul was quite angelic.

At least, he was when his mouth was shut.

George chuckled and looked up to stare at the white ceiling, trying to pass the time away.

I thought is was rather nice. you should do a follow up to George's thoughts of how cute he thought Paul was and maybe take advantage of being alone with a sleepy and dazed Paul. Who knows what could happen. Maybe then Paul would spend more time with George. Their are possibilities with this one. You do write well and I enjoyed reading it....
